Lanre Afolabi is a Managing Partner at OOPP Nigeria Limited; an indigenous real estate development and construction company. To this position, he brings 25 years’ experience, including board and management-level experiences, in the financial services sector; ranging from mortgage banking through investment/commercial banking, and he has at various times led the boards of financial services companies.
Before his appointment as a director at LivingTrust Mortgage Bank, ‘Lanre serves as the Chairman, Board of Directors at Smart Products Nigeria Plc, formerly known as Associated Press Limited.
Prior to commencing business operations at OOPP Nigeria Limited, he was the Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) at Femab Group of Companies with significant interests in Real Estate, Mining and Quarry, Dredging, Logistics, Facility management, and also managing an offshore office in Sierra Leone, which is responsible for the execution of the IPAM University project backed by the government of Sierra Leone.
He has also at different times led businesses in some mortgage banks in Nigeria, particularly as DGM, Business Development Group at Homebase Mortgage Bank Limited. Acting MD/CEO at New Prudential Mortgage Bank and also at First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Mortgages, (Now, First Trust Mortgage Bank) as Business Development Manager (BDM), Lagos and Ibadan, Business Development Manager (BDM), Abuja and Head, Real Estate Investments and Mortgages.
In the course of his career, he worked with the prestigious IMB International Bank and Eagle Bank Limited, where he headed the Private Banking unit and at other times, the Branch Manager (BM), VI and Head, Credit and Marketing department.
‘Lanre possess significant hands-on experience in construction of multi-family housing units as well as commercial projects.
He has attended several courses in various aspects of Banking, Mortgages and Real Estate investments and financing in Nigeria and Overseas.
He is married with two (2) children.
